Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

If you have any questions prior to your appointment that are not answered below please reach out to us for more information.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We recommend that you call us for a complimentary review of your insurance coverage. (Please note that while the information is obtained from your insurance company, we suggest that you still verify your coverage. This is not a guarantee of benefits and any information obtained is to the best of our knowledge. This is a complimentary service we provide to help you best understand your insurance and receive care, but we do not take responsibility for changes in policy.)

I am scared of needles. Can I still receive acupuncture?

Acupuncture needles are extremely thin and gentle, approximately the width of two hairs. Yes, that thin! We can help you slowly become comfortable with needles at a pace that works for you. However, there are also other modalities that we can utilize in traditional Chinese medicine to help build your health, including but not limited to: cupping, tui na, electric stimulation, infrared heat therapy, herbal medicine, and lifestyle modifications.

Is acupuncture painful?

The process is often painless, or nearly so, and generally very relaxing. The most common sensation from acupuncture is a light tingling following the needle insertion.

How long will it take for acupuncture to heal my injury?

These are relevant and important questions, but there is no exact time table. We will go over your treatment plan and expected progression at the initial intake.

Do I need to undress?

Acupuncture can be done fully clothed. To get the best results for some injuries or diseases, we may decide to do local points or utilize other modalities, such as cupping, which would require exposing the area. That being said, we will always select a treatment that makes you feel comfortable.
